In January 2024, The Haven opened its first store in the Village of Arroyo Grande, marking a fresh chapter in its journey. We are immensely grateful for the warm welcome from that community and for the enthusiastic support of our customers.
As The Haven matured, the importance of a nurturing environment became clear. Luckily, an opportunity arose to relocate to the vibrant village of Arroyo Grande. Recognizing the potential, the team seized the chance, knowing it would optimize their investment and provide an ideal backdrop for their business to flourish.
The transition from Envy Me to The Haven wasn't merely a name change; it represented a complete transformation.
Morgan and Veronica's partnership was pivotal in shaping the store's evolution. Fueled by their shared vision and a passion for crafting a distinct shopping experience, they drew in like-minded individuals such as Jahi and Christina, whose contributions breathed vitality into The Haven.
The Haven blossomed in November 2023, sprouting from modest roots in Grover Beach, CA. Originally known as Envy Me, a carefully curated consignment store with a touch of glamour, it was founded by Veronica's mother and served as the launching pad for Morgan and Veronica's entrepreneurial dreams. From the get-go, they envisioned something grand for their store, leading to the rebirth of Envy Me as The Haven.
OUR STORY
In 2026 The Haven took on 532 Higuera Street. For more than twelve years that address had been home to Fred & Betty's, the nonprofit thrift store whose proceeds supported San Luis Obispo Classical Academy. It was a downtown institution, and taking it forward wasn't something we did lightly.
So we kept the most important part. Our partnership with SLO Classical Academy continues — shopping here still supports SLOCA students, as it has since 2013.
To everyone who loved Fred & Betty's: thank you for building something worth continuing.
2026 — DOWNTOWN SLO
ONE ROOF
In the fall of 2026 we brought both stores together into one. Our Village location closed, and everything in it — the team, the inventory, the buying program — moved twenty minutes up the 101 to Higuera Street.
It wasn't an easy decision. The Village is where The Haven started. But one store we can stock and staff properly serves you better than two we were stretched across.
